As a lover of unique and different beers, I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for Dogfish Head since first hearing the name and tasting some of their offerings. Dogfish Head beer is special, however, I didn’t really give much thought to the personality that drives the creativity behind the scenes. Sam Calagione is an neat guy.
September ’09 trip out to Michigan, included a refreshing stop at the Saugatuck Brewing Company’s Lucky Stone Brewpub. Great food, great beer, and great entertainment!
American Devil IPA by Mr. Beer is a well rounded, if somewhat mild, representation of an IPA. Even hop and malt nose, nice color, smooth flavor.
A brief stop at the Crooked Rooster Brewpub in Watkins Glen, NY, offers a nice sampling of some good ales, and jalapeno-free quesadillas.
One attraction that homebrewers and beer connoisseurs visiting Wilmington would find worthwhile is the Front Street Brewery. This “brew pub” is actually a full fledged restaurant with a great menu featuring “modern American cuisine, and many tasty house beers brewed on-premises.
